Hi, I’m Ashley, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker in Birmingham, Alabama, and I do my best work with families, adolescents, and individuals seeking change for themselves.  I stumbled into this work as I sought to find a career that was full of challenge and full of joy.

I began my therapy career working at a local nonprofit with child victims of trauma, and this work fueled my passion for helping families find joy and connection even after life’s hardest moments.  Since then, I built Carden Counseling, which has served families and individuals in all seasons of life.  My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and collaborative.

I enjoy working with

  • families navigating stress, conflict, or trauma

  • children and teens who need a safe space to process and grow

  • parents seeking to strengthen their connection with their kids

  • adults and professional feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected

  • social workers seeking clinical supervision

Life is hard, and my hope is that my office serves as a space to relax, reflect, and rediscover the parts of yourself that feel like they’re missing. I believe healing happens in safe, trusting relationships, and I aim to create a space that makes you feel seen, supported, and empowered to show up authentically and leave our time together capable of delighting in your every day life.

It’s the highest honor for me to be invited in to the lives of others and able to walk with them through their hard seasons.  When I’m not at work, I’m usually reading a good book, going for a run, spending time outdoors with my family and friends, or planning my next silly prank or party for those I love.

If you’re looking for a space that’s compassionate, capable of holding all of your feelings, and sprinkled with lighthearted fun, I’d love to connect.
